As many of you know, Stellaris Hospitals including Northern Westchester Hospital is involved in a protracted contract dispute with Empire Blue Cross / Blue Shield. Like you, we are caught in the middle, and we are trying to manage this situation while hoping that both parties resolve their differences quickly. In the meantime, if you are seen in the Emergency Room at NWH or are admitted as an in-patient through the Emergency Room, NY State law requires that Empire BC / BS cover your stay. If you need an elective admission or surgery, our Surgeon or other specialist will either obtain emergency privileges at a different nearby hospital where MKMG has physicians on staff or will refer you to another MKMG physician of equal expertise on staff at that hospital. Please contact our Business Office at 914-242-1388 if you have any questions.
Our Services The group setting in which we practice promotes easy access to a broad range of comprehensive services under one roof and a very coordinated approach to your care. Most major medical and surgical specialties are represented at MKMG. In addition, we offer a growing number of services at our main office in Mount Kisco. This includes lab and radiology services, physical therapy and sports rehabilitation, and an optical shop. We even perform a number of outpatient procedures on-site which can often eliminate a trip to the hospital.
Our Physicians Mount Kisco Medical Group is comprised of over 200 primary care and specialty physicians including experts in 30 specialties and subspecialties. We maintain high standards for each physician in our group. All physicians are Board Certified or are required to become board certified once they are eligible. Board Certification means that our physicians have the appropriate training to practice a particular specialty and have passed a rigorous exam in the area in which they practice. This helps assure the quality care that Mount Kisco Medical Group is known for. In addition to treating patients, many of our physicians are clinical instructors at area medical schools and are active in clinical research.
Your Primary Care Physician Your primary care physician (PCP) is generally the first person you see for a regular physical exam or for a health problem. He or she knows all about your medical history, changes that have occurred over time and your ongoing health and wellness. Your PCP will refer you to specialists as needed, and will track and monitor your specialty care as it relates to you as a whole person. Since the PCP is at the base of all care, it is a high priority that you have a good relationship with your PCP. At Mount Kisco Medical Group, there are a number of primary care physicians to choose from. Ideally, patients should take time to choose a primary care physician that is most compatible with them. PCPs include internists, pediatricians, and obstetricians / gynecologists.
